Rev. Tonya D. Parker has been called a Renaissance Spirit as she uses her Libra energy to balance a lifetime of healing work. She received a BA in Sociology, an MEd in Agency Counseling, and an EdS in Professional Counseling from The College of William & Mary. She studied Conflict Management at George Mason University. She has received certifications in Human Resources Development & Management, Massage Therapy, Aromatherapy, Natural Wellness, Reiki Mastery, and Metaphysics. Tonya has also been called Therapeutic Goddess, Natural Sistah, and Throat Chakra Shaman. During a Shamanic journey, she received the name Iris, for the Goddess who rides the rainbow between Heaven and Earth. Ever the foodie, she sums up what she does as serving delicious mind, body, and soul food by way of spiritually inspired and guided holistic healing, teaching and writing.
Tonya uses her diverse training and expertise to provide Sacred Healing, individual sessions which may integrate massage, Reiki, shamanic healing, aromatherapy, breathwork, visualization, crystals, sound, and intuitive messages. She loves creating sacred space by hosting retreats and women's circles and gatherings, and is frequently called on to support other healers at their events through planning, facilitating, cooking, or Sacred Healing.
Tonya loves empowering others with her knowledge of holistic topics, and creates interactive workshops that educate and stimulate, often partnering with other gifted teachers and healers. She takes her education around the world, having produced and hosted since 2010 Mind, Body & Soul Food, a radio show on blogtalk.com that gives voice to the vision of a wide variety of healers and lightworkers.
Tonya writes a monthly blog, Mind Body & Soul Food Meanderings and has contributed work in numerous anthologies and spiritual lifestyle magazines. She published the e-cookbook, The Tonya Parker Collection: Healthy Eating to a Healthy Lifestyle; a meditation CD, Meditative Morsels: Prayers & Meditations for Feeding Your Mind, Body & Soul; a young adult novel, Diary of a Witch's Daughter; and most recently, ABC Your Way from Danger to Opportunity: Spiritual Activism in Changing Times. Tonya also works behind the scenes, offering creative, writing, and editing support for other healers and lightworkers.
In her free time, Tonya can be found enjoying her family and friends, volunteering in her spiritual communities, posing in yoga class, watching sci-fi movies and TV, listening to audio books, and beating everyone she can in Scrabble and Words with Friends.
